Well I played a pretty long session yesterday deep into the night. I was watching the final table of the WSOP and I think that it affected my performance, taking my concentration away from the games I was playing. I ended up playing 583 hands 3 tabling. It was a complete roller coaster ride. I started out great and was up a little more than 2 buy-ins (somewhere around $105 or so). Then like I said I don't think I was fully concentrating and I made some bad calls/plays, allowing people to catch up or get lucky. I was at a low point of -$80 or so and then finally climbed back to finish the session up $5.55. I need to just get up when I know I am up and find another table to sit and play at. I have tried many times to play long sessions after getting up early and I always seem to manage to loose the money I have earned.
I have read a few things about short stack play in cash games lately so I decided to give it a try today. I normally play $.25/.50 cash games, also known as $50 NL, since this is the max you can buy in for at this game. I always sit down with a full buy-in, usually at 2-3 tables. I decided to play some $1/2, or 200 NL, but only buy-in for $50 or 1/4 or the buy-in and play just really super tight aggressive. I ended up playing 54 hands and was +$131 for the session. I realize this won't happen every time, but it was a good start.
My tourney play of late has been nothing but weak I believe. Mix that in with a little bit of bad time/unlucky timing and you get some really lack luster results. About six months ago I would have said that I was a decent tourney player and a poor cash game player. I think things have changed a bit. I believe that I am right about average in the cash game department and I am heading down hill in the tourneys. One area I haven't explored much lately is SNG's. Andy and I were tearing up the low limit SNGs on Full Tilt about 4-6 months ago. I really haven't played many of them at all since I moved. Maybe I should look at playing 40-50 a week and see how my bankroll can handle it.
Overall I am having an ok month in cash games. I will give a final figure once the month ends.

Good Session
Well I played for about 45 minutes today before work and had a really good session. I was playing decent, get some decent cards and was playing against some people that were will to bluff off all their chips w/ nothing or middle pair.
So I played 199 hands and was +$133.55. Not to bad. You can click on the picture about to see my Poker Tracker Stats for the session. I haven't figured out how to make the picture bigger and clearer. I will work on that for next time.

Super Short Session
I managed to fit in a really short session today before work. I played 101 hands at .25/.50 and ended up $34.65. Not bad at all. I would take these results everyday. I did take about 15 minutes before and set up my Poker Ace Hud to my liking. I think this will really help me out.

First Post
I was really excited about playing on Sunday, which was the first time I had been really excited in a long time. PokerStars was running a $10/100K guarantee. It actually turned out to be a 150K prize pool with first place getting almost 19k. Wow that is nice and all for $10. So my plan was to play in a quite a few tourneys and I was planning on having a big day. Unfortunately it didn't work out. I can't seem to get over the hump in the tourneys. I either play really bad or I get unlucky at terrible spots. I don't even remember what a final table looks like. I got really attached to some hands in spots that I should have laid them down. I need to quit thinking that people are bluffing me all the time.
I played in 13 tourneys and cashed 4 times and none of any significance...blah! Here are the break downs-
Full Tilt:535 out of 540 - I should never go out this early in a tourney w/ a low pp. I think this set the tone for the day.
Full Tilt:24 out of 90
Stars: 7071 out of 15000. This was the 100k guar. It was the largest online tournament field ever.
Absolute:282 out of 504
Absolute: 465 out of 738
Stars: 392 out of 779
Full Tilt: 32 out of 45
Full Tilt: 42 out of 555. (Cashed)
Absolute: 11out of 29
Full Tilt: 27 out of 208 (Cashed)
Absolute: 29 out of 481 (Cashed)
Stars: 223 out of 1775 (Cashed)
Stars: 310 out of 360.
So the night at least ended better than it started with me cashing in 4 of the last 6 tourneys.
So I was -$30.77 in tourneys.
I did also end up playing a little bit of cash games. I was +$20.66. So all in all not a super horrible day, but definitely some major room for improvement.
-$30.77 tourneys
+$20.66 cash
Total for day -$10.11
